Otoplasty/Ear Pinning Beverly Hills

Prominent ears can be one of the most noticeable features of one’s face. This can be due to an overly enlarged or overly protruded ear. Often times, patients tend to hide their ears behind their hair and are very self-conscious about wearing certain hair styles. An otoplasty is the perfect procedure for prominent ears and can be performed even in children.

During the procedure:

Depending on the patient and their desires, the procedure can either be performed awake using local anesthesia as an in-office procedure or in an accredited surgery center with light sedation if they are younger. The incisions are hidden behind the ear and strict measurements are used to provide the best and most natural appearing results.

Recovery:

A light bandage is worn around the ears to minimize any swelling as well as to keep the ears securely in position. This is removed after 5-7 days. Swelling and bruising is usually minimal and most patients feel comfortable resuming social activity the next day if desired.
