Juvéderm Voluma XC® Beverly Hills
Juvéderm Voluma XC® is apart of the Juvéderm® family in that it is a hyaluronic acid filler. These particles are already found naturally within your body and thus make this filler very safe with minimal adverse effects.
As we age, our skin, fat, and muscle all lose elasticity and volume and certain areas of our face, such as our cheeks, become deflated and start to sag. This causes our jowls and facial lines to appear deeper and more prominent. Juvéderm Voluma XC® is an excellent option to help restore that volume loss by directly adding this volume back into our deflated areas. By providing this ‘lifting’ effect, it also improves the deep facial lines, such as the smile lines.
Juvéderm Voluma XC® has been shown to last up to two years and this is because it is a more robust product compared to its cousins also in the Juvéderm® family (Juvéderm Ultra® and Juvéderm Ultra Plus®).
Dr. Attenello is considered an expert in the field of non-surgical fillers and injectables and has published articles and book chapters in these specific areas. She strives to provide superior results that still appear very natural and balanced.
Q: What is the difference between Juvéderm Voluma XC® and Juvéderm Ultra® and Juvéderm Ultra Plus®?
Using a unique VYCROSS® technology, Juvéderm Voluma XC® is a tightly linked hyaluronic acid gel that contributes to its ability to provide a superior ‘lift’ and volume to patients. Additionally, this VYCROSS® technology also contributes to its longer duration compared to the other Juvéderm® products.
Because of this tightly linked technology, it is considered a more firm filler and placed deeper in the tissue. Thus, it is not designed to be placed in areas with thin skin such as the lips or fine facial lines like Juvéderm Ultra® and Juvéderm Ultra Plus®.
Q: Where is Juvéderm Voluma XC® usually used?
Juvéderm Voluma XC® is an excellent filler for midface (cheeks) and lateral face (temples). It can also be tailored to each individual patients’ needs and has been used in other areas that would benefit from volume as well.
Q: How long does it last?
tudies have shown that Juvéderm Voluma XC® can last up to 2 years.
Q: Does Juvéderm Voluma XC® hurt?
The majority of patients are able to tolerate this procedure very well. Additionally, Juvéderm Voluma XC® is mixed with lidocaine to help ease any discomfort. Dr. Attenello’s office also provides topical numbing cream as well as ice packs, which are both very helpful in making the procedure relatively comfortable.
Q: Does Juvéderm Voluma XC® bruise or swell?
Significant bruising is rare and usually does not require any downtime. Because Juvéderm Voluma XC® is usually placed deeper in the tissue (closer to the bone than the surface of the skin) , it rarely has bruising or swelling because the product is placed deeper and thus helps mask any swelling or bruising. Dr. Attenello’s office strives to attain the best results and understands that bruising can be inconvenient and pays extreme attention to details in the area to minimize as much bruising as she can.
